Personal Trainer to Boost Your Training

We all go to a fitness club for one reason or another, whether it is simply to keep fit and in good physical conditions or to loose weight. But finding the right equipment to use and getting the right fitness programme is not always so straight forward, and this is where a personal trainer might be useful.

Even if they can sometimes be expensive to use, personal trainers know exactly which equipment in your gym is best for and can really help you decide which machines to use and which parts of your body they will work on. For that reason, using a personal trainer, even only once or twice will get you into the right tracks to achieve your goals in the best possible way. You can then decide on an appropriate training programme to follow. So if you mainly want to loose weight, book a few sessions with a trainer to establish a training programme and find more on which machines to use and also on how to use them properly. The same goes if you want to build up muscles on a particular area of your body or improve your endurance.

Using a personal trainer is also useful when you do not think you can keep your motivation and stick to a regular practice at your fitness club. In this case, using a personal trainer will help you stay motivated and push you to achieve your goals even when you are not too into it or a bit lazy. A personal trainer can provide a solid structure and help you develop the proper lifestyle to stay into a consistent training programme.

You can find personal trainers nearly everywhere, whether you go to a Manchester gym or in any other place in the UK. On top of that, you can if you want get a personal trainer at home if you do not have the possibility to go to a fitness club. It will probably cost you more than going to the gym and book your sessions with the personal trainer available there but it is a great way of doing some workout. Because the trainer will come to you, you cannot say that you were not able to go to the gym or anything like that as the gym will go to you. It is also a good way of making sure you stick to your programme as doing some workout at home is not always easy in term of motivation.

Day-to-Day…What’s Your Personal Style?

We often get questions about how to build personal style since Silver Image Studios and our team does wardrobe styling for photo shoots. And the truth is we always have a different answer. Personal style is like a fingerprint, unique to everyone made up of complex patterns always leading to different lines.

The ultimate goal of our shoots is to make people look confident in what they wear, because more often than not confidence and the portrayal of strength is more important than color, or print or even price. Our consistent message is OWN IT!

That being said, choose style that speaks to your personality. Choose pieces in colors that catch your eye, and that compliment your skin tone, put a little bit of thought into it. Every time you wear it you’ll know you look good, and that feeling will be outwardly evident. A $5000 suit might look good, but if you feel like it owns you, then you’re just the hanger carrying it around. You never want to look uncomfortable in what you’re wearing.

Whether you are a colorful print ties or simple white tee kinda guy, know how to make a part of your character come through. If that means wearing a signature belt, switching up different watches or finding a cologne that gets pheromones flowing, do it! As with all things, if first you don’t succeed, try again. Most guys don’t put enough time into developing their personal style, but yes, it does matter, and no, it’s not as much of task as it sounds. So keep your eyes open and your mind too, you never know when and where you’ll find some style.

The Silver Image Studios Team is here to help!  Send us your questions, Well help you put together a look that works for you.

Learning Chess: Through Personal Development Training – Pt 1

Learning Chess: Through Personal Development Training Pt 2

Knowing Who You Want To Be

By Mason Bolton III

Welcome back!

In our previous work, we constructed an inventory of your shortcomings as determined by how you feel about yourself.  NOW, let us take a more expanded view of both you – AND of the person whom you want to be.

Phase 2 – Taking Inventory

OK.  Listed very neatly on your inventory, is what lies between you and your goal of being a better chess player, (as based on an honest self appraisal).

The next step entails the development of two more lists.

The first list is a profile of what a solid chess player is – to you.  What are their characteristics, strengths and – yes – their weaknesses – for even a master at chess has weaknesses.  Sometimes, I wonder that the most distressing thing about being a top achiever – even a world leader with millions of loyal followers – is that at the bottom of it all – you are still human – and thereby still plagued by human weaknesses.  But I digress.

Using the traits table from part 1 of this article – you will define your ideal chess player.  That is – whom do you want to be when you grow up?  Spell him out as completely as is possible and account for those things you admire about great chess players – and for those that you do not.  If the table below does not completely meet your needs, add additional information as you require to complete your list.

This step really is the only way to obtain a comprehensive list of a chess player’s characteristics for you to take on.  There is no one-size-fits-all chart that you can employ to nail down the “chess player personality”.  The fact is that there are 45 million chess players in the United States alone – and ALL of them have different personalities.

Therefore, we don’t try to chase EVERYTHING that a chess player can be.  Let us instead go after those elements of a chess player’s character which YOU have noted that you would like to instill in your own chess play.  Just as you have your idea of a dream girl (or guy) you also have your own idea of a dream chess player.  You are not attempting to become a particular chess player.  Somebody already owns that identity.  You are attempting to become the chess player that you want to be.  This exercise will help you to determine what that chess player looks like.

Once you have that table ready – you will build your second profile.  This one correlates your strengths and weaknesses to that of your ideal chess player.  Use your self-honesty appraisal to note (with a check mark) those things that you feel that you and a great chess player have in common.  Then, note in a separate list, the areas from your self appraisal where you feel that you fell short (having no check mark).

When you are done,  you will have one list – with items that you know need fixing (as taken from Table 1) – and with items that you feel need fixing (from your own self-honesty appraisal).  Both are equally important.

With that – we are now armed with the material required to build our wish list for building ourselves into the monster chess player that we want to be.  By now, some of you are getting REALLY depressed about the work that you are being put to.  If this be you, then there are two things that you should remember.

1.      When these lists are made – 90% of the work will be done.

…and

2.      You are building a plan – the most important part of any endeavor.  Once you have a credible plan of action – you can, at least, anticipate success.  Nothing is ever guaranteed to succeed – but embarking on a task without a plan is a sure-fire way to guarantee failure.  So take heart.  This is good work you are doing.

OK.  Time to go to work!  Use the inventory checklist from part 1 to help guide you through building the two profiles.  Build your self-honesty assessment first, followed by your chess player’s personality profile.  Compile them into one list of flaws that you need to fix as described above.  Then let’s meet back here to build a task list.

Your 30 Day Personal Development Challenge

Is there anything you really wanted to change about your life. Any old habit you wanted to break or any new habit you want to develop? Think of how much richer your life could be if you developed new more fulfilling habits. Maybe you want to quit smoking, learn a new language, meditate everyday, exercise everyday or you have other such personal development goals that you never quite got around to attempting, let alone achieving. If this is the case then why not take up the thirty day challenge!

What is the thirty day challenge? Basically it is an extremely simple, yet effective way of changing habits in your life. You see, very often the hardest part about forming a new habit is actually starting and lasting for more than a few days. Breaking a habit or forming a new one can be particularly tricky to do as it seems changing something for the rest of your life is so daunting that often you will not start or give-up soon due to the enourmity of the task. However with the thirty day challenge all you have to do is stick with it for thirty days, then you can go back to doing whatever it is you want, no questions asked!

This type of psychology gives you the critical feeling that it is of course not forever and that you can indeed achieve a worthwhile objective, such as not smoking for thirty days. After the thirty days you may of course choose to start smoking again or you may choose to continue with your new behavior which after thirty days has also had time to form as a new habit for you. Mentally it is just so much easier to deal with, you can tick days off a calendar or countdown the days until your target date, either way it is so much more motivating.

After the thirty days you will have time to assess whether or not your new habit serves you. If it does then you will find it much much easier to make it a more permanent behavior. You will have had time to benefit from the new habit, break the old habit and bed in the new habit. From this position you will easily be able to tell if it is something you want to continue with or not. You may also like to extend the challenge to 60 or 90 days to keep the psychological effect of it not being a permanent change and to give you a new target and challenge.

Of course it is not all easy going, the first few days will of course require effort on your part especially in terms of commitment and discipline but if you are selecting a goal that is going to improve your life then surely it will be worth it and you can even start counting your days down to freedom.

Here are some great ideas for 30 day challenges that could really benefit you in both the short and long term:

Read everyday for an hour, meditate everyday, commit to an exercise regime, cut out fast foods, eat your 5 portions of fruit and vegetables each day, call a different old friend each day, contact a family member, give-up TV completely, study a new language, quit smoking, become vegetarian, stop drinking alcohol, take time to relax more, stop watching soap operas, do Yoga, stop wasting time in on-line forums or online games, meet a new person each day. The list of possibilities is only limited to your imagination and what you deem beneficial for your life. Even if you don’t want to make a permanent change go ahead and improve yourself in the short term, you will gain from the experience of personal development whatever the outcome.

Whilst for some activities doing them everyday may not always be the ideal way, for example running for new people can be stressful on the muscles and joints, sticking to it everyday makes it a lot easier to stick to as you don’t have the excuse of just taking a ‘rest’ day. So I urge you now to make a chart with 30 days on it, write down what you are going to do to improve you life and start now!

Your Personal Development – 4 Factors That Prevent It

Have you ever wondered why you have not been able to see your dreams turned into reality? What are the things that are holding you back on the way to progress? Who is stealing your success? Are they external circumstances? No. You will be surprised to know that four things named Attitude, Motivation, Habits and Time over which only you have total control are in fact stealing away your glory regularly and you are not even aware of it.

If you ponder over these four, and undertake a sincere self-evaluation, you will find that in everything, you always have a choice. What happens is an outcome of that choice you make. You have a personal responsibility in everything for yourself. If there is some area of dissatisfaction in your life, it’s time to scrutinize yourself.

1. Attitude: Achieving great success goes hand in hand with having thoughts and words conducive to success. Do you face the new day happily? Do you see umpteen opportunities that every day brings? Stopping and checking your attitudes is very important for personal growth. This requires daily maintenance without which you will not be able to grab the opportunities that come your way. When you look around, you will find people going through their routines like zombies, repeating the same things day in and day out. Indifference is always supersedes bad attitude in negativity. As you become older, feeding your mind, purging your wrong beliefs and daily maintaining your positive attitude become of prime importance. You cannot blame your unawareness of your wrong thoughts to be a cause of failure in your life. When you reach out for self-help tools and resources, you are taking the all-important accountability for bettering your life. If you don’t, you alone are to be blamed for allowing this theft of success.

2. Motivation: Motivation is having a strong will. Unless you develop a strong will, you will not do anything. You will play around with intentions of doing something but unless you actually start doing it using will power, it remains only wishful thinking. You are only fooling yourself if you lack the determination to achieve your dream. Granted, finding motivation is not easy. Everybody has difficulty with motivation. It is in fact the first challenge faced by a person keen on personal development. There is always a small voice in your mind telling you to postpone motivation. So the key to prevent theft number two of personal growth is exercising your will to act now and keep the motivation strong.

3. Habits: To achieve anything worthwhile, you have to move out of your comfort zone. It is habits, good and bad, that keep you chained to the comfort zone, giving a false sense of security to stop you from progressing. Ponder on your bad habits and their contribution to your problems. Is overcoming them a solution? Poor habits latch on to you unawares and keep on robbing your dreams. So you must develop consciously only good habits in keeping with your goals. Your behavior should support the results you expect. Habits are those actions which you perform over and over without thought. To prevent them from stealing your success, you must keep pruning bad or unproductive habits.

4. Time: This self-expressive elusive factor crops up in everybody’s life all the time. You forget that it is time that holds the meaning to your life. Just think, how would you like your journey of life described vis-
