We are all goal striving individuals and should all have written goals; life will become very boring if you do not possess something to work towards. If you do not have any goals then you are just living the life that society is putting in front of you and you do not tapping into the power to have any influence to create the life you truly desire. You probably do not truly believe that you can live the life you truly desire; however you can have be do whatever it is you desire. First of all before you can begin working towards the life you always imagined you could have; you must know exactly what you desire.
The reason written goals are so powerful; is because this goal will stay in front of you and you will know exactly what it is you desire and regardless of what adversities and challenges arise. As you set goals for yourself and you take the time to write them down; then you have completed more than most people have. The actual process of writing them down; tells the universe what it is you desire and it begins to go to work for you. Your job is just to take action to make it a reality but not to worry about whether or when it is going to become a reality.
These are the steps I use to assist me to reach my written goals; you can feel free to use them as well. I did not come up with these steps by myself as a matter of fact I have utilized them from The Power Of Positive Thinking by Norman Vincent Peale:
1. Everyday of course after you have written down your goal; spend some time at least 15-20 minutes a day visualizing yourself as already possessing whatever it is you desire. Remember to focus on the outcome of the end result of whatever it is you desire. No matter what is going on in your personal life at the present, do not let pictures of failure enter your thoughts. Your mind will go to work to bring your mental picture that you focus on a reality; so be careful what you focus on.
2. Be yourself and set goals that YOU desire. Do not attempt to set your goals based on what others desire. You can only set goals for yourself and you can not set goals according to what someone else wants to achieve.
3. Ten times a day (sometimes more) I repeat the words “If God be for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31) You should begin repeating these right now and everyday. I begin the day everyday with this phrase while reading my written goal.
4. While walking my dogs or doing anything else I also repeat the affirmation “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” (Philippians 4:13) As you begin repeating this affirmation on a daily basis, you will realize how powerful this phrase is.
5. Always work on building your faith and remember that you have been given unlimited potential and begin believing that you can do anything you desire.
As you begin putting these 5 steps into action and read your written goal everyday; you will notice in about 21 days you life will begin to change. If you feel awkward repeating these affirmations at first; just continue saying them slowly over and over and eventually you they will become normal to you and you will begin to tap into the power of those phrases. If you want to be happy, set a goal that commands your thoughts, liberates your energy, and inspires your hopes. Andrew Carnegie
