3. Act with respect. Don’t be a doormat but do show respect. “Please” and “thank you” make a person feel… like a person. Doing that or nagging is disrespectful and demeaning and will crush their self-esteem even more. Low self esteem and lack of self respect go hand in hand. Therefore if you speak demeaning to them you will assist in strengthening their tainted self look. On the other hand, respect will change the way that they look at themselves and will raise their self esteem.

4. Be appreciative so your partner is aware that you appreciate the things they do. Whether it is cleaning the bathroom or cooking a meal, let them know you appreciate the gesture. Tell them they make a great parent if you have kids. Be honest and don’t make things up and you will see a ton of things your wife does that you can praise them for.

5. Give credit where credit (even a little) is due. Someone who suffers from low self esteem truly believes that they make no difference in anyone’s life. Your job then, is to point out these things to others and to your spouse. Let your spouse know how much you realize their accomplishments and how much they make a difference.

When one spouse has low self esteem the other one lives a life of misery.. Common signs of low self esteem are cynical look at things that go around them, the need to reign over you with an iron fist. You are probably hoping that I have come magic formula to help your spouse’s self esteem issue.

Sadly, I don’t have any magic pills (and either does anyone else have one) and the truth is that YOU can’t build their self esteem, only they can. They have to do everything, we are merely their strong support system to help them.

In this article, however, I’m going to show you 5 things you can do to HELP them build their self esteem.

1.Identify old hobbies and interests. Ask them about what they can do well or like to do or would even like to learn to do. Encourage them to do more of this or take a class. An added bonus here, is that you might also learn to enjoy that activity and it will also put passion into your life.

2. Just “out of the blue” buy for them a little nothing.It’s unbelievable how strong an impact an inexpensive gift can have when given for NO reason at all. . These things can (and should) be done outside special occasions too.

3. No put downs, not when the two of you are alone and surely not in public. Remarks like, “you are such a slob” or “stop sitting around like a couch potato and do something” might ease your frustration but will further shrink his/her self esteem. Your spouse will use such statements as a proof that he/she is really a total “loser”. Negative remarks in public should never be used even towards people with no self esteem issues..

4. Be curious in what interests THEM. Do you know their favorite animal or color? Have you an inkling of their dreams and wishes? Well, try your best to uncover them and then start talking to them about them. If you find out your wife likes turtles, buy her a turtle ornament, for example, “just because”. Find out her favorite dinner and make it for her. This demonstrates your love and care for your spouse by actions, which speak louder than words. In addition to building their self esteem, an added bonus is that when you show curiosity in what your spouses does you will also build intimacy.

5. Don’t make decisions by yourself. One of the most powerful compliments that you can give someone is to ask what they thing about something. You must always take your partner’s views into consideration when making a decision. Whether it is a major purchase or just a small thing, ask what your spouse thinks. Whether you are deciding where to go on vacation or changing the color of the bedroom carpet, ask them. This tells them that you trust and value them and this can greatly enhance your marriage.

Your wife’s or husband’s feeling of low self esteem is at the bottom of lots of marital problems. You can’t change them yourself but you are surely able to help them to build their self esteem. Take the 5 measures above and let your spouse’s self esteem issue be something of the past.

The dominant thoughts and sentiments we have are the cause of everything in our life, and the effects are the experiences that we attract into our life.

If your results aren’t what you need them to be, begin to look at the main cause, the thoughts or beliefs that you hold that’d be making those results. When you find the real cause it will be in the form of a negative belief or a negative attitude toward that area of your life.

But you can replace poor causes with more supportive ones in the same way that you created the negative ones, thru incessant thought. When you start thinking and giving your attention to the desired results, you’ll be programming them into your subconscious.

After a period, depending on how much attention you give to the good and fascinating, your subconscious will develop these new convictions and your life will change appropriately. You have command over what you feed to your subconscious, so utilize that control so you only attract and create pleasing and desirable effects.
