Designing the questions is the most important part of any survey, whether it is a traditional survey or one that uses survey software. The following article is an attempt to
provide you some tips on designing a successful questionnaire.
Consider the Goal of the Survey:
The most important thing is to be aware of the objective of the survey so that you can plan the questions accordingly.
Use Easy Language:
Your survey participants may come from various educational backgrounds, so it is better to use simple and easy to understand language for the survey questions.
Keep Open Ended Questions to a Minimum:
Although open-ended questions allow the survey participant to give a more detailed explanation for the answer without any constraints, it is preferable to keep such
questions to a minimum. The reason is that open-ended questions are time consuming, and too many is not advisable for a survey form.
Avoid Biased Questions that Lead to the Answer:
The goal of your questions should be to get the actual view of the customer. You should not add biased questions that try to get an answer that you personally prefer getting
from the online surveysparticipant.
Avoid merging two Questions into One:
Sometimes people use confusing double-barreled questions. For example: “How much are you willing to spend on a TV and a CD player?” This question is baffling because
it expects one answer for two questions. Instead, two different questions can be asked for precise answers.
Keep your Questionnaire as Brief as Possible:
See that you include only questions that can extract useful information for improving your products and services. If you are using multiple choice questions, make sure that
you use only a few choices to keep it simple.

We are all encouraged to have goals – to set objectives and have targets. When we think of goals, usually we only consider the big long-term goals, such as buying a home. However it is often our everyday goals and actions which we need to focus on in order to increase our happiness and make life more enjoyable.
Our thoughts, emotions and behaviour can either support or undermine us in our pursuit of goals and objectives. Goal directed thinking and behaviour supports us in our aims, objectives and survival. In this newsletter I have included some tips and examples to keep you goal directed and mindful of your everyday goals.
Staying goal directed means that we are personally responsible for our thoughts, emotions and behaviour. Therefore we are personally responsible for our outcomes and are in control. It is our thinking and beliefs that cause us to have negative or harmful emotions such as anger, frustration and irritation. These emotions can then have an impact on our behaviour towards situations and other people.
For example, I may go to a party – think that I’m unattractive (thoughts) – feel depressed (emotions) – drink two bottles of wine (behaviour) – have a fight with my best friend (outcome). Does this sound familiar? (My number is at the bottom of the page)
So, by recognising that our thoughts and behaviour are not supporting us and are self-defeating, we can dispute them and choose realistic thoughts to maintain perspective and stay goal directed.
To stay goal directed we could ask ourselves simple questions about our current situation and circumstances.
What is my goal here?
To have a pleasant journey
To enjoy my evening
To have a loving relationship
To get on with people
To effectively communicate with my children
To stay healthy
To have a successful career
To work harmoniously with my colleagues
When having negative thoughts and emotions we can stay goal directed by asking ourselves this pragmatic question:
How does thinking or behaving this way help me to feel good or achieve my goals?
Does being angry with peoples’ noisy Ipods and phones help me relax and have a pleasant journey?
Does worrying about how I look help me enjoy my evening?
Does blaming my partner and staying angry help me have a loving relationship?
Does demanding that others have the same beliefs as I do, help me get on with people?
Does shouting help me to communicate with my children?
Does eating fatty foods help me stay healthy?
Does being late help me have a successful career?
Does blaming and labelling my colleagues help the team effort?
Simple isn’t it? As long as we remain mindful of our goals and objectives in everyday situations we can adapt our thinking and behaviour to obtain those goals. It’s just a case of taking a moment to reflect on our goals, before harmful emotions such as anger take a hold of our actions.
Put this into practice today, maybe before you make that phone call, enter that meeting or… go on that date.

When training with a punching bag, it is very common to overemphasize power and forget about speed. This is probably because most who buy a punching bag do so for the power; since it is a common misconception that bigger and stronger is better. If a 300lb guy can only throw one punch every two seconds while a 200 lb guy can throw four punches with half the intensity in the same timeframe, I’d put my money on the 200 lb guy. Punching speed is not something that should be second to power, but regarded as equally important.
Pick a spot on the bag and slowly throw punches. Gradually increase the frequency of punches until you are maxed out and stay punching at this maximum speed for about a minute. Rest and repeat. Yes, this is ridiculously simple objective, but very effective. One can also attempt this speed exercise using the weighted gloves and punching the air. It is a common mistake to use weighted gloves on a punching bag; this can cause a lot of damage.
Try throwing punches at a speed that feels comfortable for a couple minutes, and then repeat the above exercise increasing punching speed without stopping. After another minute, go back to punching slower again and repeat. The idea here is simulating a real fight. In reality, you’re going to get tired and your punch speed will diminish for a little while until you catch your breath. Doing this will give you some insight into how long you can last before you crash and the hope is that there will be no need for a rest period over some extended period of time.
Many people give up too easily when it comes to building punching speed. It’s something that will take time to achieve and something which should be looked at as goal oriented. Instead of just showing up at the gym and telling yourself that you’ll do as much as you can do, try setting a goal of 10-15 minutes a day where you gradually increase punching speed. Anything in life that’s worth anything requires work and if you have the will and concentration, you’ll find a way.

Achieving Your Goals Using Your Imagination
As I’ve stated previously, lack of effort is the main reason why people fail in the online marketing industry (given they’ve received proper training). Once people see what’s actually required of themselves to succeed in this industry, many give up with little effort, or without even trying at all. Setting personal goals can be one huge factor in changing that. You may think this is a ridiculous statement, or a meaningless factor, but it’s not. What better way to motivate yourself to achieve your goals than to envision actually accomplishing these goals and achieving some level of personal fulfillment?
Take a few minutes to write out a list of 30 things you dream of achieving (10 short-term, 10 long-term, and 10 very long-term). Personally, the freedom of working from home, the additional free time, the money (can’t lie), and the ability to help others, are personal factors which motivate me to achieve my goals (all factors in personal happiness). When I first began this business I made such a list… here are a few examples from that list to help give you some ideas:
1) Become a skilled guitar player (time)
2) Buy my dream car (money)
3) Buy a nice condo in my neighbourhood (money)
4) Travel (time, money, and personal freedom to do what I want when I want)
5) Help my family and friends get out of debt (money)
6) Quit the job that I hate (happiness)
Make your own list (if you can think of more than 30 goals then keep writing), and spend ten or fifteen minutes a day vividly imagining accomplishing these goals. If your goal is to buy your dream car, imagine yourself in that car… how it feels to be in it… how it feels to own it… the rush of driving it. If your goal is to spend more time with your family, imagine the happiness you’d feel having the freedom to be with them essentially whenever you like… and so on. Personally, this kind of thinking gets me pumped up and excited. If you want to succeed in this industry, this visualization will get you motivated to get up and actually do the work! Will you achieve your goals in the current situation you’re in? Will running a successful work-at-home business help you achieve your goals? If so, they should be all the motivation you need to get up and put in some hard work.

Goals can be a very funny thing. Once they are set and a person is determined and committed enough, they have an unusual way of becoming reality and no longer just a dream. Very few people sit down and consciously create goals for themselves. And many people that do will give up before they ever really make any progress in the direction that they want.
What can you do differently?
One thing that you MUST do is to make sure that the goal that you set is something that you really want or desire. It cannot be something that you think you should go after but really have no real passion for. You see, there are going to be times when it seems as though your goals are out of your reach.
When this time comes, your level of determination, desire, and overall commitment will dictate whether or not you keep moving forward or if you decide to fall back and give up altogether.
CREATE POWERFUL GOALS…
Give yourself some “juice” by creating powerful goals for yourself. Make sure that you feel passionate about achieving them and that no matter what happens you will do whatever is in your power to make them come alive, make them real, and make them shine!
You can achieve almost anything that you want. But, you must stay committed to your goal or your dream if you want to guarantee success. You can create compelling and POWERFUL goals if you choose and also achieve them as well.
Would you like to learn more about how you can make your goal become your reality?
